Online booking tool setup, from snippet to first booking

Setting up a reservation system has a reputation for being a project. It is three steps here, and a venue that knows its own tables and service hours gets through them between lunch and dinner service.

01

Paste one snippet into your website

You copy a single snippet from the account and drop it into your site. It works on a hand-built site, on WordPress, on Squarespace, on Wix and on Shopify, and there is a plain booking link for places a script cannot go, like a Google profile or an Instagram bio.

The widget reads the fonts, colours and radius of the page it lands on, so it looks like part of your site rather than a panel from somewhere else. The booking page behind it answers on your own domain, for example bookings.yourvenue.com, which means the guest never sees another brand between wanting a table and having one. There is more detail on the website booking system page.

  • One snippet, one line to paste, no developer needed
  • A booking link for places that do not take a script
  • Your fonts, your colours, your domain

02

Set your tables, rooms, chairs and service windows

This is the step that makes availability real instead of a calendar with names written on it. You enter what you actually have and how you actually run a service.

Once that is in, the fit engine can answer the only question that matters at the pass: does this party fit here without pushing the next one out.

Tables and how many people each one seats, rooms and their types, chairs and the staff member at each one

Service windows: when you take a lunch sitting, when dinner starts, which days you are closed

Turn times per party size, for example 90 minutes on a two-top and 105 on a four-top

The buffer you want between two parties on the same table

Deposit rules: which party sizes, day parts and services ask a guest for a card

The reminder sequence and when each message goes out

03

Take bookings and let the confirmations and reminders run

Bookings land on the board the moment they are made, from the widget, from a Google or Instagram link, or typed in by whoever picked up the phone. Everything is in one book, so the paper diary stops being the version of the truth that argues with the screen.

Try the demo

The confirmation email goes out immediately, with the details and a one-tap cancel

The reminder goes out 24 hours before and again 3 hours before, with one tap to confirm

A cancelled slot is offered to the waiting queue on its own

The risk score tells the host which of tonight's bookings are worth a phone call

Deposits are asked for where your rules say, on the booking page, with no card reader involved

Moving across without losing a booking

You import existing bookings and guest records by CSV, keep your current booking page address pointed at the new page, and run both systems for a service or two while the team gets used to the board. Nothing has to happen on a Friday night. Cut over on your quietest day and keep the old system readable for a week.

What the team has to learn

The board is the screen the host stand lives on: a timeline with one row per table, room or chair. Dragging a booking to another table re-runs the fit rather than just moving a label, so the host cannot create a clash by tidying up. Staff logins are included in every plan, so nobody has to share one password.
