Reserving

Barbershop appointment software and booking software for barber shops

Reserving is barbershop appointment software that charges one price per shop: 49 USD a month for up to 3 barbers, or 149 USD a month (74 USD billed yearly) for up to 10, with deposits by service, two-way SMS reminders and a booking page on your own domain. Clients pick the barber, the service and the time; the chair is held and nobody else can take it. There is no fee per booking, no fee charged to your clients and no cut of new clients.

How much does barbershop software cost?

Most barbershop booking apps cost 30 to 150 USD a month for one shop. The bigger difference is how the price grows. Booksy adds 20 USD for every barber after the first, Fresha charges 14.95 USD per bookable team member, and theCut asks each barber to subscribe on their own. Squire and Square charge a flat fee per shop, then gate features like the waitlist or no-show fees behind the higher plans.

Reserving charges per shop too. Core at 49 USD covers 3 barber logins and 300 bookings a month. Growth at 149 USD covers 10 barbers, unlimited bookings, deposits, SMS reminders and a queue that refills cancelled slots. Billed yearly, both are half price.

What a 7 chair barbershop pays per month

List price for one shop with seven barbers, before card processing and add-ons. On plan price alone Square, GlossGenius and Vagaro cost less than our monthly Growth plan, and we say so. The bill that hurts a barbershop is usually what comes on top: commission on new clients, per-barber seats and no-shows on a Saturday.

What a barbershop runs on Reserving

A booking engine that treats every appointment as one barber, one chair and a real block of time, so a 30 minute fade and a 60 minute cut and beard are booked at their true length.

  • Clients book a named barber or the first free chair, from your site, Google and your Instagram bio
  • Service lengths per service, with a short reset between clients, so the book never runs late on paper
  • Deposit and card-hold rules per service, per day and per time, so Saturday and after-work slots are protected
  • Two-way SMS reminders where the client confirms or cancels by reply, and the slot goes back on sale
  • A waiting queue that offers a cancelled slot to the next client in line
  • A client record with visit history and notes that belongs to the shop, not to an app

04

How do I stop no-shows at my barbershop?

Ask for a card or a small deposit only where an empty chair costs you money: long services, Saturdays, after 5 pm and first-time clients. Keep regular 30 minute cuts card-free so loyal clients book in two taps. Then remind everyone by text the day before and two hours before, and let them cancel by reply so the slot can be resold.

These are the rules the live demo above runs. Try a 60 minute service, or a slot after 5 pm, and watch the rule change.

What is the best app for barbershop appointments?

For a solo barber who wants clients from an app marketplace, Booksy or theCut. For a shop that already rings up on Square, Square Appointments. For a busy shop of six or more chairs, or an owner with two to five shops, whose clients already find them on Instagram and Google, a flat per-shop booking system with deposits is the better buy, because nothing grows with each hire or each new client.

Stay on Booksy, theCut or Square if

  • You cut alone or with one or two other barbers
  • Most new clients find you inside the app's marketplace
  • You want POS, tips, retail and payouts in the same app
  • Your no-show rate is already low without deposits

Then a 0 to 50 USD plan is hard to beat.

Choose Reserving if

  • You run six or more chairs and every hire raises your software bill
  • Clients book from your Instagram bio, Google and your own site
  • Friday evening and Saturday no-shows cost you real money
  • You own two to five shops and want one board and one client list

Here the price stays flat and nobody takes a percentage of a client you brought in.

Barbershop booking software US shops compare

These are the tools US barbers most often weigh against each other. Each charges in a different way, so the cheapest one depends on how many chairs you run and where your new clients come from. Prices are list prices for one shop.

How to set up online booking for a barbershop

Most shops take their first online booking the same afternoon. Switching from another app takes a week of running both, so nobody who already booked is lost.

  1. 01

    Add your barbers and chairs

One login per barber, each with their own hours and days off. Chairs are the resource, so two barbers can never be put in the same chair at once.

  2. 02

List your services at their real length

Cut, skin fade, cut and beard, beard trim, kids cut, each with its minutes and a short reset between clients.

  3. 03

Set your deposit and card rules

A deposit on long services, a card hold after 5 pm and on Saturdays, nothing on a regular weekday cut. Your payment provider charges its normal rate; we take no percentage.

  4. 04

    Share the link

Paste the widget on your site, put the booking link in your Instagram bio and on your Google Business Profile. If you are moving from another app, import clients by CSV and close bookings there after a week.

FAQ

Questions barbershop owners ask before they switch

See pricing
What is the cheapest booking app for barbers?

For one barber, Square Appointments Free costs nothing for the software and theCut's free plan gives you a booking link. For a shop, Square Plus at 49 USD per location and Vagaro at about 90 USD for seven calendars are among the cheapest plans. Cheapest on paper changes once you add commission on new clients, per-barber seats and paid add-ons.

Do barbers use Booksy or Squire?

Both are common in the US. Booksy is popular with solo barbers because its app brings in new clients, and it charges 20 USD a month for each staff member after the first. Squire is built for barbershops, charges a flat fee per shop and puts the waitlist and loyalty on its higher tiers. Shops of six or more chairs often compare both with a flat per-shop system.

Can clients book a specific barber online?

Yes. On Reserving the client picks a barber by name, or chooses the first available chair, then the service and the time. Only times that barber actually has free, at the full length of the service, are offered, so a 60 minute cut and beard is never squeezed into a 30 minute gap.

Can I charge a deposit for a haircut?

Yes. On Growth you set deposit and card-hold rules per service, per weekday and per time of day. A common setup is no card for a regular weekday cut, a card hold on Saturdays and after 5 pm, and a small deposit on long services. The deposit comes off the bill, and your no-show fee is charged to the held card.

Does Reserving charge my clients a booking fee?

No. Clients pay nothing to book. You pay one monthly price per shop, and card payments go through your own payment provider at its normal rate. We take no percentage of deposits, no-show fees or new clients.

What does a barbershop with several locations pay?

Multi-Venue costs 499 USD a month, or 249 USD billed yearly, for up to five shops with unlimited barbers, one shared client list and group reporting. On per-barber pricing, three shops of seven barbers would pay for 21 seats.
