Privacy policy

This policy covers reserving.ai, the website you are reading. It says what we collect here, why, how long we keep it and how to get it removed. It is written to be read rather than to be survived.

The operator

The service and this website are operated under the Reserving brand at reserving.ai. Questions about this policy, requests for a copy of your data and requests for deletion all go to [email protected] and are answered by a person.

Data you give us

When you create an account on this site you give us one thing: an email address. We also store the six digit confirmation code in hashed form, when it was sent, how many times it was tried and whether it was confirmed.

Data collected automatically

With that email address we store the context it arrived in, so we know which page and which campaign it came from.

• The page you were on when you signed up
• The referring address, where your browser sent one
• Campaign parameters in the link you followed, where present
• Your IP address and browser user agent, kept for spam prevention and security

What we do not collect

• No advertising trackers and no third-party marketing pixels on this site
• No profiling and no automated decisions about you
• Nothing at all from the interactive demo on this site. What you type into it stays in your browser and is never sent to us or stored anywhere
• No special category data, because there is nowhere on this site to enter any

The purposes, plainly

• To send you the six digit code and confirm the address is yours
• To email you the next steps for setting up an account
• To answer you when you write to [email protected]
• To keep the signup form from being abused, using the IP address and user agent
• To understand which pages earn signups, in aggregate

We do not sell your data, we do not rent it, and we do not pass it to advertising networks.

Retention

• A confirmed signup is kept while the account exists, and deleted on request
• An unconfirmed signup is deleted automatically after 30 days
• Support email is kept for as long as it is useful to the conversation, then deleted
• Backups roll on a 30 day cycle, so a deleted record leaves the backups within that period

Processors

We use a small number of suppliers to run the service, and each of them only gets what it needs to do its job.

• A cloud hosting provider, which stores the database
• An email provider, which delivers the code and the welcome message
• Nobody else, and no advertising network

What you can ask for, and how

You can ask for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or object to us holding it at all. Write to [email protected] from the address in question, or tell us which address it is, and we answer.

There is no form and no ticket number. A deletion request is carried out and confirmed back to you in writing.

What this site stores in your browser

This site sets what it needs to work and nothing else: a session cookie so the signup modal remembers where you got to, and a security token that protects the form from being submitted by somebody else. There are no advertising cookies, and there is no consent banner because there is nothing to consent to.

Updates to this policy

When this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. A change that affects how we use data you have already given us is emailed to the address we hold for you before it takes effect.
