Vagaro pricing and Vagaro cost per month, with fees and add-ons

For salon, spa and barbershop owners pricing a booking system before they sign.

Vagaro costs 30 USD a month for one bookable calendar and 10 USD a month for each additional calendar, up to seven, so the base subscription tops out at 90 USD per location. Staff beyond seven are added free. On top come paid add-ons (text marketing 20 USD, forms 10 USD, the MySite website 20 USD, a branded app 100 USD) and card processing of roughly 2.2% in person and 3.5% plus a per-transaction fee online.

How much does Vagaro cost per month?

Vagaro costs 30 USD a month at list price for a single location with one bookable calendar, which is one staff member's schedule. Each extra calendar adds 10 USD, and Vagaro's own pricing FAQ confirms the charge stops at seven licenses: after that, more employees cost nothing. Vagaro often runs a promotion that brings the first calendar to about 24 USD, so the first months can look cheaper than the list price.

Every plan includes online booking, the calendar, client records, the Vagaro marketplace listing and 1,000 marketing emails a month. There is a 30-day free trial and Vagaro says you can cancel at any time with no cancellation fee. Several locations are priced by quote rather than by the calendar formula.

Vagaro cost by number of calendars

This is the base subscription at list price for one location, before add-ons, tax and card processing. One calendar equals one staff member who takes bookings.

130 USD360 USD
240 USD480 USD
350 USD600 USD
570 USD840 USD
7 or more90 USD1,080 USD

Read on its own, this is one of the cheapest salon systems in the US. A ten-stylist salon pays the same 90 USD as a seven-stylist one. Where the bill grows is not the calendars, it is the add-ons below.

What are Vagaro's add-ons and what do they cost?

Vagaro sells most of the tools a busy salon relies on as monthly add-ons, each priced per location. These are the add-on prices reported across Vagaro's help center and 2026 pricing reviews:

Vagaro add-on Price per month
Text marketing20 USD
Forms (intake and consent)10 USD
MySite website builder20 USD
Vagaro Drive storage10 USD
Check-in app10 USD
QuickBooks integration10 USD
Xero integration30 USD
Data Lake reporting40 USD
Payroll34 USD plus 5 USD per employee
Branded app100 USD

Add-on prices change and Vagaro runs promotions, so confirm them in your own account or quote before you sign.

Most salons do not need all of these. The three that come up most in practice are text marketing, forms and a website, which together add 50 USD a month. Add the QuickBooks sync and it is 60 USD, the same as the calendars of a four-person team.

What are Vagaro's fees?

Vagaro's fees beyond the subscription are card processing, hardware and the add-ons above. A standard Vagaro marketplace listing carries no booking commission, which is a real difference from Booksy Boost and Fresha's new-client fee.

  • Card-present payments: about 2.2% to 2.29% for smaller merchants, with some reviews adding up to 19 cents per transaction
  • Keyed-in and online payments: about 3.5% plus 19 to 30 cents
  • ACH bank payments: about 1%
  • Merchants processing more than roughly 4,000 USD a month can negotiate lower keyed rates
  • Hardware: card readers and POS terminals from about 100 to 380 USD, with a free reader on some sign-up offers

Processing on 12,000 USD a month of in-person payments comes to roughly 265 to 275 USD at those rates. That is close to what any card processor charges, so it should not decide the question on its own.

What a salon really pays on Vagaro

Here are three realistic salons, each with text marketing, forms and a website switched on, at list prices per month.

Salon Vagaro calendars Add-ons Vagaro total Reserving
3-chair studio50 USD50 USD100 USD49 USD on Core, 149 USD with SMS and deposits
7-stylist salon, QuickBooks sync90 USD60 USD150 USD149 USD on Growth
7-stylist salon with a branded app90 USD160 USD250 USD149 USD on Growth, no app

The honest reading: for a three-chair studio, Vagaro is cheaper than any plan we sell with SMS reminders, and we would not tell that owner to switch on price. At seven stylists the two are level, and the choice comes down to what you use. Once a salon adds the branded app or runs more than one location, a flat per-location price starts to win.

Is Vagaro worth it for a salon or spa?

Vagaro is worth it for a small salon, spa or barbershop that wants an all-in-one shop system: calendar, POS, retail, memberships, payroll and a consumer marketplace that sends new clients, all for 30 to 90 USD a month in calendars. Few systems match that at the price, and there is no marketplace commission.

It is a weaker fit when the add-on list grows longer than the calendar line, when no-shows on long color or spa services are the real cost, or when the salon wants its bookings on its own domain rather than a listing next to competing salons. In those cases the question is less about Vagaro's price and more about what you are paying it for. We laid out the switch case, with Vagaro's competitors and the steps to move, on our Vagaro alternative page.

Is Vagaro cheaper than Booksy?

Yes, for any team larger than one. Booksy charges 29.99 USD for the first person and 20 USD for each additional staff member, so a three-person shop pays 69.99 USD against 50 USD on Vagaro, and a seven-person salon pays 149.99 USD against 90 USD. Booksy includes marketing texts that Vagaro sells as a 20 USD add-on, which narrows the gap for small teams. The full per-staff math is in our Booksy pricing breakdown.

When a flat per-location plan costs less than Vagaro

Reserving charges one price per location: 49 USD on Core with 3 staff logins, 149 USD on Growth with 10 staff logins, deposits by service, two-way SMS reminders and a waiting queue, and 499 USD on Multi-Venue for up to five locations. There is no add-on for texts, forms or the booking page, and we take no percentage of payments or deposits.

That structure pays off in three cases. A salon group with four locations of seven stylists pays Vagaro 360 USD in calendars alone and about 560 USD with the common add-ons, against 499 USD on Multi-Venue with one client record across all four. A spa that loses a 150 USD treatment to a no-show twice a week loses more than any subscription, and deposits set per service fix that directly. And a salon whose clients come from Google and Instagram gets little from a marketplace it pays to be listed in.

If the accounting side is part of the decision, the QuickBooks add-on is not the only route. A salon that already reconciles from the bank can convert the bank statement to a QuickBooks file and skip one more monthly line. What you give up on our side is the retail POS, payroll and the marketplace; if you run those every day, Vagaro is the better buy. Our salon and spa booking software page shows how bookings fit to the stylist, chair and service length.

Questions to ask Vagaro before you sign

  • What is the price after the promotion ends, and for how many calendars
  • Which add-ons will you actually switch on in month one, and in month twelve
  • What processing rate applies at your monthly card volume, in person and online
  • How do deposits work for long services, and how are they refunded on a timely cancellation
  • Can you export the full client list, with formulas, notes and history, at any time

The same questions apply to every booking system, ours included. Plan details and yearly prices are on pricing, and the live salon board on the home page runs without an account.
