Fresha pricing and the Fresha new client fee for US salons
For salon, barbershop and spa owners pricing Fresha before they sign or hire.
Fresha costs 19.95 USD a month for a one-person business and 14.95 USD a month for every bookable team member on the Team plan, with custom pricing above 20 team members. There is no free plan any more. On top of the subscription come card processing (about 2.2 to 2.3% plus 20 cents in person, 2.79% plus 20 cents online in the US), a one-time 20% fee on brand new clients who find you through the Fresha marketplace, with a 6 USD minimum, and paid add-ons for loyalty, reviews and reporting.
How much does Fresha cost per month?
Fresha sells two self-serve plans and an enterprise tier. The price grows with each person who takes bookings, not with the number of locations. Both plans start with a 7-day trial and run month to month with no contract.
| Plan | Price | What it includes |
|---|---|---|
| Independent | 19.95 USD a month | 1 team member, a single calendar column, 50 free texts and 100 free marketing emails a month, email and chat support |
| Team | 14.95 USD per bookable team member a month | unlimited team members and locations, 50 free texts and 100 marketing emails per member, phone support, commissions, pay runs and timesheets |
| Enterprise | custom | for businesses with more than 20 team members |
Plan names, allowances, the 7-day trial and the 20 member enterprise threshold are from fresha.com/pricing. Fresha shows prices in the visitor's local currency, so the US dollar amounts are those reported by 2026 pricing reviews.
Is Fresha still free? No. Fresha dropped its free plan in early 2025. Older reviews that call it free software with paid payments describe a model that no longer exists, which is why many salons that joined years ago now see a monthly bill for the first time.
What is the Fresha new client fee?
The Fresha new client fee is a one-time charge on a brand new client who discovers your business through the Fresha marketplace and books there. In the US it is 20% of that first booking, with a 6 USD minimum. Returning clients never trigger it, and neither do clients who book through your own booking link, Instagram or Facebook.
On a 45 USD men's cut the fee is 9 USD. On a 180 USD color and cut it is 36 USD. For a salon that gets ten marketplace clients a month at an 85 USD average ticket, that is 170 USD, which is more than the Team plan for a salon of eleven people. The fee is the reason two salons on the same plan can see very different Fresha bills.
You can keep the fee low by sending your own audience to your direct link rather than to your Fresha marketplace profile. The fee pays for discovery; if your clients already know where to find you, you are paying for something you did not need.
What are Fresha's card processing fees?
Fresha processes card payments itself, and the US rates reported for 2026 are:
- In person, card terminal or tap to pay: about 2.19% to 2.29% plus 0.20 USD, depending on the source
- Online, including deposits and prepaid bookings: 2.79% plus 0.20 USD
- Manually keyed cards: 3.30% plus 0.20 USD
- Buy now, pay later through Klarna: a higher percentage plus a fixed fee per transaction
Upfront payments, no-show fees and cancellation fees are included on both plans, but they run through Fresha's processing, so a deposit taken online pays the 2.79% rate. Card terminals are bought separately.
Fresha pays out to your bank account in batches, net of fees, so one deposit on your statement can cover dozens of appointments, tips and fee deductions. If your bookkeeper struggles to tie those payouts back to sales, software that can match each bank deposit to your books saves the monthly guesswork of which appointments a payout belongs to.
Which Fresha add-ons cost extra?
Fresha lists these optional add-ons on its pricing page. The US amounts are from 2026 reviews where available.
| Add-on | How it is charged | Reported US price |
|---|---|---|
| Client Loyalty | per location, monthly | 59.95 USD |
| Google Rating Boost | per location, monthly | 14.95 USD |
| Insights (advanced reporting) | per bookable team member, monthly | 9.95 USD |
| Data Connector | per location, monthly | 295 USD |
| Premium support on Independent | monthly, included on Team | 14.95 USD |
| Team Connect, Xero, Smart Website | per member, per location or monthly | not published in USD |
| Texts over the allowance | per message | paid per text |
Watch Insights in particular. It is charged per bookable person, so on an eight-person team it adds about 80 USD a month, more than half the plan again.
Fresha cost by team size
Here is the plan cost at four sizes, with no add-ons and no marketplace fees, next to a booking system priced per location. Reserving Core covers 3 staff logins; Growth covers 10 with deposits and SMS reminders; Multi-Venue covers 5 locations with no staff limit.
| Business | Fresha per month | Reserving monthly | Reserving billed yearly |
|---|---|---|---|
| Solo stylist | 19.95 USD | 49 USD, Core | 24 USD, Core |
| Salon, 4 stylists | 59.80 USD | 149 USD, Growth | 74 USD, Growth |
| Salon, 8 stylists | 119.60 USD | 149 USD, Growth | 74 USD, Growth |
| Salon, 10 stylists, Insights on | 249 USD | 149 USD, Growth | 74 USD, Growth |
Read it honestly. For a solo artist and a small team, Fresha is the cheaper buy, and we would tell you so. Billed monthly, Growth only catches up at ten people. Billed yearly, Growth at 74 USD matches Fresha at five people, and every hire after that widens the gap. Add ten marketplace clients a month and the eight-stylist salon pays about 290 USD on Fresha against 74 to 149 USD on a flat plan.
Above 20 team members you leave the published price list and negotiate with Fresha sales. A group with three locations of eight stylists is already at 24 members.
Is Fresha worth it?
For a solo pro or a team of two or three that wins most new clients in the Fresha app, yes. The plan is cheap, POS, gift cards and memberships are in the box, and the marketplace fee is only paid when the app actually brings someone new. It gets expensive in three situations: a growing team, because every hire adds 14.95 USD; a salon whose new clients mostly come from Google and Instagram but still book on the marketplace profile; and a spa or color-heavy salon that needs deposits, since every online deposit pays Fresha's online rate.
Reserving charges one flat price per location with no fee per booking and no cut of new clients, and takes deposits through your own payment provider at its normal rate. Our Fresha alternative page shows a worked month for a six-stylist salon and the switch in four steps. If chairs and treatment rooms both matter, the salon and spa booking software page shows how a booking checks the stylist and the room together, and barbers can compare per-shop pricing on our barbershop appointment software page.
Fresha vs Booksy vs Vagaro on price
Per person, Fresha is the cheapest of the three marketplace apps: 14.95 USD per team member, against 20 USD per extra staff member on Booksy and 10 USD per extra calendar on Vagaro (which caps at about 90 USD a location). On new clients, Fresha takes 20% of the first booking against 30% on Booksy Boost, while Vagaro's standard listing charges no commission. Our Booksy pricing and Vagaro pricing guides have the full numbers.
Questions to ask before signing with Fresha
- How many people will take bookings in a year, and what is that times 14.95 USD?
- How many new clients a month really come from the Fresha marketplace, and at what average ticket?
- Do we need Insights or Loyalty, which are charged per person or per location?
- How much of our revenue is taken online as deposits, at the 2.79% rate?
- Will we pass 20 team members and move to custom pricing?
The same questions apply to any booking system, ours included. The live board on the home page books a sample salon without an account if you want to test it first.
