Gloss Genius pricing, GlossGenius plans, fees and cost per month
For salon owners, stylists and spa managers pricing a booking system.
GlossGenius costs 28, 56 or 168 USD a month on its Standard, Gold and Platinum plans, or 24, 48 and 148 USD a month billed yearly. Every plan pays a flat 2.6% on card payments. Payroll is an add-on at 40 USD a month plus 6 USD per staff member, and instant payouts cost 1.8%. For a solo stylist or a team of up to about nine, it is one of the cheaper salon systems in the US.
How much does GlossGenius cost per month?
GlossGenius has three plans for beauty and wellness businesses, and the price depends mostly on how big your team is. These are the list prices on its US pricing page, before tax and card processing.

Plan prices and features are from glossgenius.com/pricing. GlossGenius also sells two medspa plans, Practice Essentials at 168 USD monthly and Practice Advanced at 298 USD monthly. Every plan starts with a 14-day trial without a card, and GlossGenius moves your data from another system at no charge.
GlossGenius does not print a team limit on the pricing page. Third-party pricing reviews report that Standard is built for a solo professional, Gold covers up to nine team members and Platinum removes the limit, with Platinum aimed at teams of ten or more. Ask for the limit in writing before you pick a plan, because it is the line that decides your bill.
GlossGenius Gold vs Platinum, and Gold vs Standard
The jump from Standard to Gold is 28 USD a month on monthly billing, and it buys the tools a salon with a front desk uses every day: intake forms and waivers, booking through Google, reviews, an automated waitlist and room management for shared treatment rooms. For anyone beyond a solo chair, Gold is the plan to compare.
The jump from Gold to Platinum is 112 USD a month, three times the price. Platinum is for managing a team rather than booking one: goal setting, deeper analytics, commission structures and marketing analytics. You pay it mainly because the team has outgrown Gold. A nine-person salon on Gold pays 56 USD; hire the tenth person and the reported limit moves you to 168 USD.
What are GlossGenius processing fees?
GlossGenius charges a flat 2.6% on every card payment, in person, keyed in or online, with no per-transaction fee and no extra charge for the card reader. Payouts on the same business day are free Monday to Thursday. Everything else on the fee list is optional.

Is 2.6% a good rate? For in-person payments it is about the same as everyone else. On 15,000 USD a month at an average ticket of 90 USD, GlossGenius takes 390 USD. Booksy's card reader at 2.49% plus 10 cents comes to about 390 USD on the same volume, and Square's in-person rate lands close to 400 USD. The flat rate wins on online and keyed payments, where other processors charge 2.7% to 3.5% plus 30 cents. Processing should not decide the choice; the subscription and the team limit will.
GlossGenius cost by salon size
Here is a full year at four realistic sizes, on monthly billing, with and without payroll. The last column is what the same salon pays on a booking system priced per location, before card fees.

Read it honestly: for one to nine people, GlossGenius is cheaper than any plan we sell with SMS reminders, often by more than half. A four-chair salon that wants a clean booking site, reminders and forms should look hard at Gold. We would not tell that owner to switch on price.
Payroll is the line that changes the picture. It is a separate system on every booking platform, ours included, so it only matters if you would buy it from GlossGenius anyway. The other thing that changes it is growth: the tenth hire triples the plan price in one step.
Is GlossGenius worth it?
For solo stylists, lash and brow artists and small salons, yes. 28 to 56 USD a month buys a polished booking site, marketing texts, forms and a flat processing rate with free same-day payouts. That combination is hard to beat for a team that takes payment at the chair.
It is a weaker fit in three cases. A salon with ten or more staff lands on Platinum at 168 USD a month, where the gap to other systems closes. A group with two or more locations needs to ask how each location is billed, because a per-location price is where larger groups save. And a salon that wants a phone answered while the stylist is busy will find that GlossGenius lists its Reception feature as not yet available; if missed calls and DMs are costing you bookings today, an AI front desk that answers and books clients is a separate tool worth pricing now.
GlossGenius vs Booksy, Vagaro and Square on price
The four most common salon systems in the US charge in four different ways:
- GlossGenius: 28, 56 or 168 USD a month by plan, 2.6% flat processing
- Booksy: 29.99 USD plus 20 USD per extra staff member, 2,000 marketing texts included, 30% of a first visit through Boost
- Vagaro: 30 USD for one calendar plus 10 USD per extra calendar up to 90 USD, with text marketing, forms and a website as add-ons
- Square Appointments: a free tier, then Plus at 49 and Premium at 149 USD per location
At four people GlossGenius Gold at 56 USD beats Booksy at 89.99 USD and Vagaro at 60 USD in calendars before add-ons. At nine people Gold is still 56 USD while Booksy reaches 189.99 USD. When a per-location booking system costs less than GlossGenius
Reserving charges one price per location: 49 USD on Core with 3 staff logins, 149 USD on Growth with 10 staff logins, deposits by service, two-way SMS reminders and a waiting queue, and 499 USD on Multi-Venue for up to five locations. We take no percentage of payments or deposits, and yearly billing takes Growth to 119 USD a month.
That beats GlossGenius in two places. A ten-person salon on Platinum pays 168 USD monthly or 148 USD yearly, against 149 or 119 USD on Growth. And a group of three to five locations pays one Multi-Venue price with one client record across all of them. - How is a second or third location billed
- Which fees apply to deposits and no-show charges taken online
- What the yearly plan costs if you cancel before the year ends
- Can you export the full client list, with notes and history, at any time
